BECOME AN F1 ACE AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL

Motorsport fans attending Autosport International in January will have the chance to see if they could be the next Jenson Button, with the news that the Mobil 1 Grand Prix simulator will be present at the NEC-based show.

Designed by racing drivers, for racing drivers, the Mobil 1 simulator is a full-size replica of a 2009 Grand Prix car, and has been created using the same techniques as Button`s Brawn or Lewis Hamilton`s McLaren. In fact, the simulator uses the same technology which is supplied to numerous race teams, to allow drivers to sharpen their skills away from the race track.

Dubbed as the ultimate, most realistic racing experience, the simulator will give show-goers the chance to really see and feel what it is like to be an F1 racing ace and is the closest thing to actually getting behind-the-wheel of a real F1 car. Drivers will feel everything which F1 drivers experience when they lower themselves into the cockpit, with the full motion capability of the simulator providing a sense of movement under acceleration and breaking. The force-feedback steering wheel also sends vibrations through the driver`s arms whenever they hit a kerb or bump on the circuit. So you`ll know all about it if you drive off track and end up in the barrier.

"The Mobil 1 Grand Prix simulator will be a fantastic addition to the show," said Autosport International Marketing Manager Pim van Baarsen.

"The technology involved in the simulator will allow people to get a real taste of what it is actually like to be a racing driver but in a safe environment. I`m confident that it will be one of the most popular attractions at the show."
