LOTUS AT THE RING Nurburgring experts, RSR Nurburg will organise the first exclusive `Lotus at the Ring` track event at the Nurburgring in Germany on 30/31 July. Participants on this brand new circuit event will get to experience both the legendary 21km Nordschleife and the new F1 GP track, over two thrilling days.Included in the 499 Euros entry price is admission to the F1 circuit track evening, an exclusive, educational Ron Simons TrackWalk, a local meal, drinks and four-star accommodation, as well as a photoshoot on the Karussell and a five-hour trackday on the historic Nordschleife. In total, there will be seven hours of open pit lane driving time on both circuits, over one and a half action-packed days. Ever since Roger Clark`s famous victory in 1963, the legend of the Lotus marque has been firmly etched into the history of the notorious Nurburgring Nordschleife. Back then, Colin Chapman`s lightweight Type 23 showed the dominant Porsches and Ferraris a clean set of heels, to the tune of 27 seconds on the first lap. Now it`s possible to experience why the 21st Century Lotus design philosophy has proven so devastatingly effective at the world`s toughest track. Lotus Cars Ltd will be present with their new Evora model, an exciting larger-platform mid-engined V6 sports car. And the Norfolk-based manufacturer will host a technical overview and a Q&A session on the innovative new model, which features many engineering advances for the company. In addition, Lotus factory test drivers will run demo laps on the event in a range of new models, including the fresh Evora. RSR will cater for all levels of talent on this event; it is a track day event, not a race. Even if drivers have never been on a circuit before, the professional instruction, TrackWalk and briefing will ensure that they have a fantastic day. The price includes an hour of group instruction in the morning and personal instruction from RSR`s top range of tutors can be added on a one-to-one basis if so desired. Over 200 cars can use the North Loop at once, so 100 or so Lotuses will leave the track beautifully empty, giving everyone involved the chance to really get their teeth into the infamous `Green Hell.` Ron Simons` RSR Nurburg organisation has been running for over ten years, providing private tuition, informative TrackWalks and expertly-prepared rentals to use on the best tracks in the world: Spa-Francorchamps and the notorious Nurburgring Nordschleife race circuit. Currently, RSR offer an exciting range of LHD and RHD rental cars, including the new 230PS RenaultSport Megane R26 (x2), the 400PS Porsche 996 GT3, the 196PS RenaultSport Clio (x2), the 360PS BMW E46 CSL and the 148-196PS Alfa Romeo 75 two-litre and three-litre V6s with full cages, harnesses & race rubber, along with a supercar-pasting, 386PS Cosworth V6 downforce-equipped ProSport LM3000 (and Spyder), for those seeking a more `racecar-feel` to their lapping experiences in Europe. Prices start at 199 Euros for a half day (six laps) in one of RSR`s perfectly set-up Alfa 75s, rising to just over 2,000 Euros for a full day in the GT3. Prices include two drivers, all fuel and lap tickets.
